3 bedroom chalet in Samoens

 

Lovely 3 bedroom chalet, 8 minutes walk on a charming road to the center of Samoens and yet the chalet is in stunning surroundings, or a 2 minute drive. The skiing in the Grand Massif is one of the best in Europe, and hikers and bikers will love the area too in all seasons! Samoens is a little village in the Alps that is full of charm. The ground floor has a big kitchen/dinning area, the 1st floor 1 bedroom and 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms.

Traditional savoyard 3 bedroom chalet with stunning views of the mountains. Surrounded by nature, the chalet is only 8 minutes walk on a charming road to the centre of Samoens. The chalet is located in the Chevreret area, where Samoens' ski jumping competitions were once organised in the 1950s. The chalet is built in original timber logs and has recently been refurbished. It offers a unique modern and cosy atmosphere. La Marmotte is the perfect spot to explore the ski resort of the Grand Massif.

Space

There is a large tv and broadband wifi access to stay connected and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with raclette and fondue set to cook a typical savoyard meal after a healthy day in the alpine surroundings. Whether walks in the summer or skiing in winter, there is plenty of outdoor activities on the doorstep.

Guest access

La Marmotte is about 10 minutes walking distance to the centre of Samoens and the place du vieux tilleul with lots of bars and restaurants. There are also plenty of shopping options, including heaps of souvenir shops with decoration making you wish to buy a chalet to decorate on the spot.

Neighborhood overview

Unlike other ski resorts in the French Alps, Samoens has kept its traditional charm and typical mountain atmosphere. It is an old stone cutter's village and this tradition is infused in the village's buildings.

Getting around

The slopes of the Grand Massif and the Grand Massif Express are about 3 minutes drive from the chalet. A private bus SKILIB is available during the winter season and can come and pick you up at the chalet to bring you to the lift of your choice and bring you back in the evening. The service should be booked in advance at least the evening before and is charged separately.

Other things to note

The chalet is situated in the valley which leads up to the 3 traditional refuges of Samoens - refuge de la Golese, refuge de Bostan and refuge de Folly. There are plenty if maps and guidebooks in the Chalet to help you explore these Alpages, which form part of Samoens' history. The slopes of the grand massif are 5 minutes drive away. The GME Express has a big car parc and takes you straight to the Plateau des Saix. From the Plateau des Saix a number of new lifts now take you rapidly from the top of Samoens to the slopes of Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaines. Most of the slopes of the Grand Massif are North facing and have snow all winter long! You can rent skis on the top of the Grand Massif Expess or at the bottom in Samoens Village
